The PlayStation State of Play has dropped a few exciting looks for various games. However, a new trailer for Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach reveals some interesting details.
As Kojima Production was showcased, the trailer gave fans a look at not only a 2025 release but the returning characters and a glimpse of Elle Fanning’s and Shioli Kutsuna’s characters. In the trailer, we see Sam Bridges (Norman Reedus) given a tour of a ship he is working on known as Drawbridge, a civilian outfit created by Fragile (Lea Sydoux). Leading to the character in uniting the world, we see a new character who happens to be a talking puppet. Although the voice behind the puppet has not been revealed, it seems like Sam will be having a new companion.
More in-depth with the cinematic scenes and gameplay, the game will also have different environments, from cities to rocky mountains, deserts, and many more. Gives fans a view of where the character is heading, including threats he’ll face, including a familiar character.
HIGGS IS BACK !!
Higgs, who is voiced by Troy Baker, was defeated by Norman Reedus’s character in the first game during the last encounter. Seeing his return to the sequel, there is something different about his appearance, and it’s just getting more interesting. We see Baker’s character transform from a machine to a masked cyborg or, should I say, a cyborg rock star. Removing his mask unveils a rock star look, which is very impressive. Plus, his weapon is the shape of a guitar.
According to the trailer, it seems like Higgs is accused by Sam of killing Lou (the baby). Shocking as it sound, Higgs mentioned Sam that he doesn’t know about a certain thing which leads a mystery for him to solve. Knowing Kojima, he has a knack for secrets, and it’s up to the fans to figure out.
WHO ARE THE NEW CHARACTERS?
This is the first time we see Elle Fanning’s character aside from the posters. While her character’s name is still unknown, there are a few things to point out. Looking at Fanning’s character, she appears to be living in the drawbridge ship, and as she’s Eavesdropping, we can see invisible strings connected to her. Fanning’s role in Kojma’s upcoming game could possibly lead to an interesting mystery about her character.
As interesting as the trailer gets, we can’t forget the other unknown character. There’s no doubt that the floating woman in the medical bed could be Shioli Kutsuna. Alongside Fanning, there are no other details behind the two new characters, and hopefully, they will be revealed soon.

After observing the trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding sequel it’s still too early to know the full details behind the characters and story of the game. With only a year away, there are some secrets that the game holds when it comes to both Death Stranding and Kojima’s creativity.
