The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor is one of those still rare varieties of anime. All entirely due to this anime adaptation of the novel series of the same name by Sarasa Nagase starring a female main character for once. Bonus points for the anime having a female main character in the dominant role in a romantic sword and sorcery fantasy story. Or at least, it will be once this anime finally makes its debut. Fortunately, now we know when that will be the case.
The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor: Debut Details
Japanese entertainment news website Comic Natalie has just revealed when we’re going to get to see the anime adaptation of The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor. Or at least, the ballpark of that. Apparently, we’ll be seeing this female-led fantasy anime sometime in 2024. Alas, that’s the closest we have to a release date for now. We’ll just have to wait for that release date to be revealed at some point in the future.
Fortunately, that’s not all Comic Natalie has for us today. They also have a brand new teaser visual for The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor, which you can see above. Said teaser visual shows the main character Jill Cervel ready to go a-slaying with her giant sword. Honestly, it’s in stark contrast to the bit of cozy teaser artwork that Mitsuya Fuji (artist for the light novel adaptations) shared on Comic Natalie. You can check it out below:
Want even more of an idea of what this anime is all about? Well, Yen Press has an official synopsis for the manga, courtesy of Crunchyroll. You can check that out below:
Jill Cervel, the magically gifted daughter of a noble family, dedicated her life to training for war. It was all for her fiancé and one true love, Prince Gerald der Kratos… until he sentences her to death for discovering his dark secret! In her final moments, Jill wishes for another chance at a normal life. She just might get her wish, but there’s a catch—she has to propose to her kingdom’s future rival, the Dragon Emperor! It’s a reluctant vow for Jill, but it could end up changing the course of history…
