Here’s a fun bonus straight out of Camp Half-Blood: more Percy Jackson content on Disney+!

Disney revealed today it will release A Hero’s Journey: The Making of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on January 30. The 50-minute documentary will give fans a look at how the hit series came to life. The behind-the-scenes content will feature the show’s leads Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri, as well as author Rick Riordan and the creative team.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson. Percy is just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus. 

The Disney+ series adapts the popular YA novels by Riordan. The show has proved to be a smash hit with book fans and new fans alike. According to internal data provided by Disney+, the first episode brought in over 26 million views in its first three weeks of streaming. Critics also praise its faithfulness to the source material, cast chemistry, and its use of worldbuilding and mythology.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians season finale airs on January 30 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET on Disney+. The documentary special A Hero’s Journey will also be available immediately after.
