Lovers of horror and ‘80s teen flicks will have something special to look forward to this Valentine’s Day: Lisa Frankenstein.
The “coming of RAGE” love story follows a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness… and a few missing body parts along the way.
The film stars Kathryn Newton, with Cole Sprouse as her re-animated boyfriend. You can see the pair on the new poster for Lisa Frankenstein revealed by Focus Features today.
The poster’s neon lighting gives the perfect sci-fi throwback vibes and features the tagline, “If you can’t meet your perfect boyfriend… make him.”
Lisa Frankenstein comes from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody, who penned 2009’s cult classic Jennifer’s Body. The film also marks the feature directorial debut of Zelda Williams. Williams previously described Cody’s screenplay as “the most bonkers, wonderful zombie script I’ve ever read.” Hey, sounds good to us!
Lisa Frankenstein will premiere in theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day on February 9. You can grab your tickets online now.
