There are many reasons why Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is one of the best anime series of all time, let alone 2023. For one thing: this anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge has consistently seen high production values. Trust me, Ufotable really went all out on that animation. Combine that with the lovable characters, great story, and very catchy music, and you can see why everyone loves every season of this anime. This includes the Swordsmith Village Arc that makes up season 3. Thus, you can also see why it’s the most-watched anime of 2023.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3: Viewership Details

The fact that it’s the season in which we finally hear Nezuko speak probably also has something to do with it.

Japanese marketing research company Video Research has just released some very interesting statistics about various 2023 shows in Japan. This includes anime series that premiered that year like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Swordsmith Village Arc. Otherwise known as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 3, that is. According to Video Research, in Japan alone, season 3 managed to get 15.4 million people watching it live. If you think that’s impressive though, it gets even better. By the time Ep. 11 premiered on June 18, 2023; the season 3 finale caused viewership to peak at 22.9 million people.

Yeah, no matter how you look at it, Tanjiro and co. are the winners of 2023 in the anime department. I would argue that this is quite the incentive to check out Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba for yourself, but that’s just me. If you wish to though, then you can do so on Crunchyroll, Hulu, or Netflix. All while waiting for the upcoming season 4 to premiere sometime in Q2 2024, of course.

Tune back into THS later to find out more about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and other anime news when we hear about them.
