The Russo Brothers have recently revealed that Louis D’Esposito, the Co-President of Marvel Studios, will be honored with the inaugural award at the Russo Brothers’ Italian American Filmmaker Forum (RBIAFF) on January 18th. This event marks the beginning of an annual tradition.

D’Esposito has been a dedicated advocate for acknowledging, as well as advancing Italian American culture within the film industry. So, this occasion will pay tribute to his exceptional contributions by presenting him with the esteemed “Renaissance Award”.

The RBIAFF, in partnership with the Italian Sons and Daughters of America (ISDA), organizes an annual filmmaker fellowship program. This program provides production grants to up-and-coming filmmakers who aim to explore and portray various aspects of the Italian American journey on screen. 

So, the top 5 applicants selected for the grant will have the opportunity to bring their submitted concept to life through a short film. A distinguished selection committee, consisting of executives from AGBO as well as leaders from the ISDA, will evaluate the films and choose a winning entry. Applications for the RBIAFF grant will be open starting from February 1, 2024.
