Radio Silence’s Untitled Monster Thriller is now Abigail. And it’s a movie about kidnappers who kidnapped a vampire, a ballerina vampire.

If that’s not a fantastic idea for a horror movie, I have no idea what is. Abigail releases in theaters on April 19th and you can check out the trailer below!

The movie introduces a group of hardened criminals who attempt to kidnap a seemingly innocent little girl. What ends up happening is the girl is a vampire, more specifically, a ballerina vampire. The movie is loaded with talent including Melissa Barrera (Scream series), Dan Stevens (Eurovision, Legion), Kathryn Newton (Lisa Frankenstein, Freaky), William Catlett (Black Lightning), Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution), Angus Cloud (Euphoria), Alisha Weir, and Giancarlo Esposito.

Here’s the official synopsis from Universal.

“After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.”

Radio Silence is the directing team behind Scream, Scream VI, and Ready Or Not. It was written by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick. The film was produced by William Sherak (Scream franchise, Ready or Not), Paul Neinstein (Scream franchise; executive producer, The Night Agent) and James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Scream franchise) for Project X Entertainment, by Tripp Vinson (Ready or Not, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island) and by Radio Silence’s Chad Vilella (executive producer Ready or Not and Scream franchise). The executive producers are Ron Lynch and Macdara Kelleher.

My only gripe with a movie called Abigail, is that the soundtrack better have some King Diamond from his eponymous album Abigail. Other than that, this one looks like an absolutely thrilling time at the movies. Universal has been on a bit of a vampire kick between Renfield and The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Hopefully this one fares a bit better than those two movies, especially at the box office, but for now, this trailer is more than enough to get me in a seat.

So, what do you think of the Abigail trailer? Are you excited to go see this vampire horror ballerina kidnapping movie?
