The upcoming Lisa Frankenstein from Focus Features has finally dropped a full trailer! The film is a fun twist on a teen romcom from the mind of Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body). The film promises to be a captivating tale of love and anger.

The story revolves around a misunderstood teenager and her infatuation with a charming corpse, who becomes her high school crush. Through a series of darkly humorous events, the corpse is revived, leading the two on a thrilling and macabre quest for love, joy, and the recovery of some misplaced body parts.

Kathryn Newton (Freaky) stars as Lisa Swallows and Cole Sprouse (Riverdale) as “The Creature”. It was written by Diablo Cody, who’s known for Juno and Jennifer’s Body. It also stars Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino. The film is the directorial debut of Zelda Williams, Robin Williams’ daughter.

Williams described Cody’s screenplay as “the most bonkers, wonderful zombie script I’ve ever read.” Williams previously directed several music videos, as well as the short film Kappa Kappa Die. Cody won an Academy Award for her Juno screenplay and also produces Lisa Frankenstein alongside Mason Novick. Jeffrey Lampert executive produces.

Lisa Frankenstein premieres in theaters on February 9th, 2024 just in time for Valentine’s Day.
