Spy x Family Season 2 Ep. 10 “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest / Bragging About Vacation” is essentially the bright and beautiful morning after the dark and bloody night abord the cruise ship Lorelei. It’s the much-needed fluff after all the action and drama of the Cruise Ship Arc. Even better, much of this episode is anime-original. Thus, fans of the manga will get a kick out of this episode.

Spy x Family Season 2 Ep. 10 “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest / Bragging About Vacation” is the 10th episode (you can read reviews for  Ep. 1, Ep. 2, Ep. 3, Ep. 4, Ep. 5, Ep. 6, Ep. 7, Ep. 8, and Ep. 9 here) of the second and latest season of the anime series, and the 35th episode overall, hence why it’s officially titled Mission: 35. Said anime is the anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Tatsuya Endo (Blade of the Moon Princess, TISTA). Wit Studio (Attack on Titan season 1-3, Ranking of Kings, The Ancient Magus’ Bride season 1) and CloverWorks (Horimiya, Wonder Egg Priority, My Dress-Up Darling) remain the animation studios behind this anime.

Hayato Sakai is the director behind Spy x Family Season 2 Ep. 10 “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest / Bragging About Vacation”, with Rino Yamazaki as the writer, and Hayato Sakai returning to do the storyboard. Kazuhiro Furuhashi along with Takahiro Harada (starting with this season) are the directors of Spy x Family season 2. Ichirō Ōkouchi is the writer for season 2 of the anime this time, taking over from Furuhashi. (K)NoW_NAME is still the composer for the music you hear in the anime.

Speaking of music: : “Kura Kura” (クラクラ, lit. “Dizzy”) by Ado and director Masaaki Yuasa is the opening theme song. Meanwhile, the ending theme song is “Todome no Ichigeki” (トドメの一撃, lit. “Finishing Strike”) by Vaundy (feat. Cory Wong) and director Eugene Winter.

The perfect Forger family vacation has arrived!

I would say that the best part of Spy x Family Season 2 Ep. 10 “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest / Bragging About Vacation” is the story. Yes, some might argue that fluff isn’t story. I would say that those who argue that are not fans of worldbuilding and character interactions. Because essentially, this is what fluff allows an author to do. Fluff is the ultimate vehicle for both points, and this episode takes that to heart. While also giving us a nice break from all the action and drama of the Cruise Ship Arc to boot. All in all, this episode caps that arc very nicely, while also giving us a look at the aftermath of that arc.

As an additional treat, a lot of the first part of Spy x Family Season 2 Ep. 10, specifically the “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest” part, is basically anime-original content. Much of what we see in that part either only got a single panel in the manga, or didn’t appear at all. Considering how much that fluff fits into canon, all this is basically a lovely treat for the manga fans.

Who dares say something bad about Anya?

If you’re not a fan of fluff, then Spy x Family Season 2 Ep. 10 “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest / Bragging About Vacation” is probably not the episode for you. This entire episode is basically nothing but fluffy fluff. I suppose you can go back and rewatch the Cruise Ship Arc if action and drama is all you care about. But take care to avoid the comedy, if you’re not fond of it, which basically means skipping the good parts of that arc.
