It would appear that Peacock‘s live-action adaptation of the Twisted Metal video game franchise is a huge hit. I mean that both literally and figuratively considering the amount of vehicular violence in both the games and the series. In fact, this series is such a huge hit that Peacock wants more of it just months after its July 27, 2023 streaming debut. How much more, you might ask? Well, enough to renew it for a second season. Don’t believe me? Then why not believe Sweet Tooth himself below?
Twisted Metal Season 2: Announcement Details
Peacock is proud to announce that they have renewed Twisted Metal for a season 2 via that announcement trailer above on YouTube. Alas, all that Sweet Tooth mentions is that this second season is coming. There’s no release date or even a release window for us to look forward to. That’s something Peacock will have to give us at a later date.
However, we do have some words about this upcoming season 2 of Twisted Metal from the showrunner, executive producer, and writer: Michael Jonathan Smith. You can read his exact words below:
I have to give a Sweet Tooth-sized thank you to our incredible fans – I read every comment and was so blown away by everyone’s love, support, and rabid enthusiasm for a paper bag. We are beyond thankful we get to continue the story of John Doe, Quiet, and Sweet Tooth as they face off against familiar faces and new grim foes in the long-awaited Twisted Metal tournament. The mixtape is made, and I’m thrilled to get back on the road with our stellar cast and crew.
Tune back into THS later to learn more about this upcoming Twisted Metal season 2 when we hear about it. In the meantime, you can watch season 1 only on Peacock. You can even watch it for free. Peacock hasn’t locked it behind their premium paywall…yet.
