Created by Luke and Madison Rhoades, the talented duo behind Cross Roads Escape Games, comes Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales a new twist on Axe Throwing!
Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales is a unique and thrilling experience that offers an opportunity to have fun, test your skills, and immerse yourself in the world of horror/slasher films.
WHAT MAKES Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales STAND OUT ABOVE THE REST
I’ve been to a handful of axe-throwing experiences, and after about 20 minutes, I’m usually ready to go. But that’s not the case at Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales.
First, let’s talk about the theming. When you walk in, you feel like you’re in a forest. You sign in at the camp office, and then you meet your camp counselor, who helps you with the safety rules, choosing the games, and tips on throwing axes. We found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful, and they made sure we had a great time.
In case you’re parched, there’s also a Log Cabin Bar with a few snacks, beer on tap and other libations. Make sure to take note of the elk that’s front and center at the bar. He’ll be important at some point throughout your evening.
When it comes to the Slasher’s lanes themselves, they are all themed after our favorite slasher icons from Candy Man, Michael Meyers, Freddy Krugar, even Angela Baker, Harry Warden, and many more! There are multiple games you and your friends can play. We decided to warm up by choosing our favorite icons, then we moved on to Bowling, Space Invaders, and Black Jack. Then, we closed it out with Battleship! The games were challenging and fun, and we all had a good time competing against each other.
The overall atmosphere at Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales was fun and exciting, and we all left feeling like we had a great experience. Having so many game options makes the axe throwing a blast and the 60 mins fly by! You’ll want to come back to play the ones you missed or add on time to your current reservation.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW TO ENJOY MY TIME?
While there’s a FAQ Section on the Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales website, I know not everyone is going to read it. So, here are the main things you need to know before going.
Reservations: Recommended but not required. Walk-ins are welcome but subject to lane availability.
Shoes: You have to wear closed-toe shoes to participate. So, don’t show up wearing flip flops, or could sandals. We’re not letting the Slasher Icons take any trophies home.
Tickets: $40 per person for a 1-hour axe-throwing session
Location: Location:1941 Newport Blvd. Unit #105, Costa Mesa, CA 92627
Arrival: Show up a few minutes early to sign the waiver, order drinks, and get settled into your lane.
We had a tiny bit of trouble finding the location. Just know when you see the Travel Lodge you’re turning right after. I know it’s gonna look like you shouldn’t, but do it! Then go to the back for the parking lot.
I highly recommend Slashers Axe Throwing & Ales to anyone looking for a fun and unique activity to do with friends or family. It’s a great way to get some exercise, have some fun, and let off some steam.
