I’ll freely admit that I really only enjoy going to Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights. It’s when you get the best value for your money, the weather is nice, and there’s always stuff to do. Well, it looks like I’ll have to change my tune because Universal Studios Hollywood puts on a hell of a show for the holiday season as well. For Annual Pass Holders, Universal Studios put on two nights of pass-holder-only events. From 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM, the entire park was open for people to enjoy and see the various holiday goings-on.
Of course, you could just go down to Super Nintendo Land and enjoy the shortest wait times in the small park’s history for Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, but that wouldn’t be in the holiday spirit. No, there’s plenty more to do than just having short lines for all the attractions. They have an entire section in the courtyard devoted to the magic of Whoville, complete with a massive curvy Christmas tree. They also have the tremendous The Magic Of Christmas At Hogwarts Castle light show at night. The holiday festivities run from November 24th to January 1st.
Universal Outdoes Themselves With Decorating
Take one look down Main Street in Universal Studios Hollywood, and you’ll know that they did a fantastic job decorating the place. Everywhere has decorations. The Illumination section of the park is decorated in world. Down below on the lower lot has a Jurassic World-themed tree. The only place that seems like it’s completely separate from the decorating is Super Nintendo World. It would have been nice to have some snow on the mountains or anything, but that world is just the same as it is year-round. The main attractions are The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter and Whoville though. It’s impossible to miss Whoville coming into the park.
It’s not all about decorations though. They also have plenty of food and beverage options like special hot chocolate in Whoville and items in Wizarding World that are seasonal. I had the Smores Hot Chocolate and Hot Butterbeer that was magnificent. The Whoville section has enough shows and stuff to do to fill up an entire night. The Who’s come out and greet guests, Cindy Lou Who reads to the audience, there’s a Doo Whop show, and of course, you can meet The Grinch and Max.
For those looking for a holiday escape with their family or loved ones, Universal Studios Hollywood’s Holidays is a fantastic way to get in the spirit. So, are you in the mood for a bit of Holiday cheer at Universal Studios?
