Blue Box by Kouji Miura (I Love You, My Teacher) is one of the best manga series running in Shonen Jump. Much of that has to do with the fact that it’s not really a shonen manga at heart. It’d be more accurate to describe this manga as a shojo manga where the sports is the setting of a romantic comedy. After all the mindless fighting you see in typical Shonen Jump manga, this is like a breath of fresh air. It also helps that Miura is one of the few female mangaka in the manga business, and one of the few to get into Shonen Jump to boot. Thus, you can imagine my delight when I came upon news of an anime adaptation.

Blue Box: Anime Adaptation Details

Not only that, but it looks like it will be a gorgeous anime to boot.

Shonen Jump manga Blue Box (Ao no Hako (アオのハコ)) has just revealed via its new official website that it’s finally getting an anime adaptation. Alas though, this announcement is almost all there is. There’s no word about which animation studio will be in charge of producing this anime. There’s not even so much as a release window. We’ll just have to wait for the anime to tell us that at a later date.

But that’s not all! This announcement does have some actual information about this upcoming anime adaptation of Blue Box for us. You can see the key visual above as one of them. The other actual information consists of character art of the main characters Taiki Inomata and Chinatsu Kano, posted on their respective Twitter posts. They even reveal who will voice them in the anime when we eventually see it. You can check that art and voice actors/actresses out below:

Taki Inomata (voiced by Shōya Chiba)

As you can see, the art quality is pretty high.

Chinatsu Kano (voiced by Reina Ueda)

They even get pretty close to Kouji Miura’s art style while still being anime-fied.
