Now that the strikes are over, the casting news is flying fast. Yesterday, we got news that Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor in James Gunn‘s take on Superman, Superman: Legacy. Now, his right hand, Eve Teschmacher has been cast as well. Deadline is reporting that Sara Sampaio has been cast in the role.
The character first appeared in Superman and Superman II and was created by Richard Donner and Mario Puzo for the film. In the comics she’s Lex Luthor’s assistant turned love interest. David Corenswet plays Superman in the upcoming film alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, and Maria Gabriela de Faria.
This new movie is the first in a slate from James Gunn and Peter Safran after they took over DC Films at the beginning of the year. It follows Superman as he tries to balance his human life and his Kryptonian heritage. Gunn wrote the script and directs the film. Superman: Legacy releases in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
Sara Sampaio is a Portuguese actress and model known for her work with Victoria’s Secret. She recently starred in At Midnight, a rom-com from Paramount. She’s also been in The Clapper and Billions.
