Yes, you read that headline correctly. The Creepshow Holiday Specials from 2020 are getting an official VHS release this Holiday season. Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment announced a VHS release of both the holiday specials from Shudder. The preorder period begins on October 26th and tapes should start shipping in early November. Witter is the premier VHS manufacturer these days with licenses for titles like Mandy, Black Friday, and other great horror movies. You can preorder from Witter directly.
You can read our reviews of both the Creepshow Holiday Special and the two animated specials they released at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the episodes was co-written by Stephen King and his son joe Hill. The two specials were both directed by series steward Greg Nicotero.
Here’s what’s included on the tape:
- A Creepshow Animated Special featuring segments based on short stories by Stephen King and Joe Hill. It is directed by Greg Nicotero (The Walking Dead) and stars Kiefer Sutherland (The Lost Boys) and Joey King (The Conjuring).
- A Creepshow Holiday Special written and directed by Greg Nicotero. Adam Pally (Happy Endings) and Anna Camp (True Blood) star, with a special appearance by Lil Yachty.
There’s a standard edition that is just the normal VHS slipcase or a limited edition (limited to 100) with a flip-cover and yellow tape with artwork by Graham Humphreys and Devon Whitehead.
Also, the episodes WILL be formatted from their original aspect ratio to fit a 4:3 full-frame aspect ratio.
