Blue Eye Samurai is one of the more mysterious of Netflix‘s upcoming animated series. This bloodily violent series by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green first made its appearance at Netflix‘s DROP 01 virtual event back in September 27, 2023. Even that brief peek into it showed off a very interesting story. Basically: it’s a revenge story set sometime in Japan’s Edo period about a female samurai who wants to get revenge on the men who raped her mother. Unfortunately, that was all that was available at that DROP 01 teaser. Fortunately though, now Netflix has given us the official trailer for it. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out that official trailer below, and revel in the bloody action for yourself?

Blue Eye Samurai Official Trailer: Details

Gallons of blood and drama in this series, it seems.

Netflix is proud to present this official trailer for Blue Eye Samurai on YouTube. Said trailer gives us a bit more insight into the story of this animated series starring Maya Erskine as the main character Mizu. Apparently, Mizu’s quest for revenge for her mother’s rape is quite morally and dramatically complex. It seems that the four men she’s hunting are a group of foreigners who raped her mother. Which ultimately resulted in her birth and her titular blue eyes. Along the way, she apparently encounters friends (including a geisha woman who seems important to the story and to Mizu), but most importantly: a whole bunch of enemies. Which she elimates in brutal fashion. It seems this series isn’t shy with either blood or gore, as was the case with the teaser.

Fortunately, it won’t be long before we will see just how much blood this series will spill. This official trailer reveals that Blue Eye Samurai will make its debut on November 3, 2023. As you might expect though, it’s a Netflix exclusive. Thus, you will need a paid subscription to watch it.

Bonus: Logline
