What is it with Michael Kennedy and thinking of the best ideas for horror movies? First, it was Freaky, which was Freaky Friday mixed with a serial killer. Now It’s A Wonderful Knife, which combines the plot of the holiday classic It’s A Wonderful Life with a slasher movie. It looks perfect, down to the title. Here’s the synopsis.

A year after saving her town from a psychotic killer on Christmas Eve, Winnie Carruthers’ life is less than wonderful — but when she wishes she’d never been born, she finds herself in a nightmare parallel universe and discovers that without her, things could be much, much worse. Now the killer is back, and she must team up with the town misfit to identify the killer and get back to her own reality. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE by way of SCREAM.

It’s A Wonderful Knife stars Jane Widdop, Jess McLeod, Joel McHale, Katharine Isabelle, William B. Davis, and Justin Long. Tyler MacIntyre directs a script from Michael Kennedy. Kennedy also serves as a producer on the film. It releases in theaters on November 10th and streams on Shudder at a later date. Like Freaky before it, this looks like it’s a slashing good time. It captures the spirit of the holidays but adds in horror elements. We’ll have to see how it is when it releases in theaters.
