The Ancient Magus’ Bride season 2 will very soon debut its second cours as of this writing. So naturally, Studio Kafka want to hype up this upcoming cours 2 of this anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Kore Yamazaki (Frau Faust), and what better way to do that than to give us a look at a creditless version of the opening animation? The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 Creditless Opening 2: Details
The official YouTube channel for anime production company Twin Engine just posted this creditless second opening for The Ancient Magus’ Bride season 2. Not only does it show off the wonderful singing voice of JUNNA, but it also gives us an idea of what this second season is all about. And boy, does it get creepy.
This second opening animation sequence for The Ancient Magus’ Bride season 2 really pushes the boundaries of the surreal. You can see the main character Chise Hatori, running around what looks like a stage, enacting some kind of play with cardboard cutouts of her classmates that seem to switch from cutout to real life at will randomly. But then the cardboard scenery suddenly impales and shreds Chise’s classmates, and forms into an eldritch horror Flowey would be proud of. When faced with a creature right out of Undertale, Chise goes full hero on it and knocks it out…only for the scenery to fall away, leaving an empty classroom. What does that mean? Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for the anime to give us that info when it makes its debut.
Fortunately, that won’t be long now. The Ancient Magus’ Bride season 2 cours 2 will make its global debut on October 5, 2023. It’s also going to be a Crunchyroll exclusive, just like the previous cours and season. Thus, you will need a paid subscription to watch it.
