Are you ready for more insane anthology horror? V/H/S/85 is nearly here and Shudder has a brand-new trailer for us. They might have hit the ’90s with the previous two installments, but now, they’re going back to the heyday of horror, the ’80s. It’s Beta tapes and blow-outs, and of course, lots of blood. The anthology horror flick has five directors: David Bruckner (Hellraiser 2022), Scott Derrickson (The Black Phone), Gigi Saul Guerrero (Bingo Hell), Natasha Kermani (Lucky), and Mike Nelson (Wrong Turn).

A synopsis for the V/H/S movies is a bit strange because there are multiple stories, but here’s the frame for the film at least.

An ominous mixtape blends never before seen snuff footage with nightmarish newscasts and disturbing home video to create a surreal, analog mashup of the forgotten 80s.

The cast includes Jordan Belfi, Freddy Rodriguez, James Ransone, Dani Deetté, Rolando Davila-Beltran, Justen Jones, Marcio Moreno, Ari Gallegos, Forrest Hartl, Duffy McManus, Eric Pierson, Felipe de Lara, Tom Reed, and Vivian Morse. The writers on the project include Zoe Cooper, Evan Dickson, Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill, Mike P. Nelson, and Gigi Saul Guerrero.

V/H/S/85 releases on Shudder on October 6th. It also has a special screening at Beyond Fest 2023 here in Los Angeles, CA.
