The mobile gacha game Arknights managed to reach into anime territory with its official anime adaptation: Prelude to Dawn. That first season of the anime apparently turned out to be highly successful. So much so that studio Yostar Pictures is making a season 2 titled Perish in Frost. Don’t believe me? Arknights: Perish in Frost ~ Details
The Arknights official YouTube channel just released that PV trailer for Arknights: Perish in Frost on…well, YouTube. Said trailer shows off a lot of military science fantasy action, along with plenty of political intrigue. Fans of the original free-to-play tactical RPG and tower defense mobile game by developers Hypergryph and Studio Montagne would be very familiar with this combination of genres. In fact, those who watched the first season of this anime by animation studio Yostar Pictures (Yostar also publishes the game worldwide) would be just as familiar with them.
So when can we see this second season of the anime? Well, the title of that PV trailer as well as the very end of it reveals that Arknights: Perish in Frost will begin airing in Japan on October 6, 2023. Presumably, this will also be when we see it here in the NA region. Hopefully, Crunchyroll will stream it just like they’re streaming season 1.
