War Machines appears to essentially be a combination of World of Tanks and Armored Warfare, but with inferior graphics to both. In fact, the graphics look like they came right out of a PS2 or Nintendo GameCube game. It’s a bit understandable for this game though. It is a free-to-play mobile game, after all. It’s not going for ultra HD PS5 or Xbox Series S/X graphics. It’s going for graphics that are suitable for your average smartphone.
That said though, the graphics aren’t the main issue of War Machines. The main issue is that virtually no one knows about it. It doesn’t even have a Wikipedia article. However, it does look like developer Wildlife Studios wants to change that. What else do you call it when they’re announcing a collaboration with The Expendables of all franchises?
War Machines x The Expendables Collab: Details
Wildlife Studios, in partnership with Lionsgate and Millennium Media, is proud to announce that they’re entering into a collaboration effort with The Expendables franchise for their mobile game War Machines. This collaboration is apparently to also promote the upcoming Expend4bles film. This 4th and latest addition to the action thriller franchise by director Scott Waugh is set for a September 22, 2023 theatrical release date.
So what does this War Machines x The Expendables collaboration entail? Apparently, this collab will consist of several characters from Expend4bles making their way to the game as playable commanders. The list of commanders include Barney Ross (played by Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (played by Jason Statham), and Gina (played by Megan Fox). The collab also included special patterns and decals players can put on their pixel tanks, inspired by the films.
This War Machines x The Expendables collaboration kicked off on September 18, 2023. You can download the mobile game for yourself on its official website for free.
