Have you ever had a dream cross over into reality? What if you saw a stranger in a dream, and then saw them when you were awake? What if it wasn’t just your dream, but yours and everyone else’s? That’s Dream Scenario.

It’s a whole new kind of viral fame and parasocial relationships. When otherwise regular guy Paul – played by Nicolas Cage – starts showing up in everyone’s dreams, he becomes an overnight sensation. But the novelty of being the man of everyone’s dreams wears thin quickly…

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie from A24:

Hapless family man Paul Matthews (Nicolas Cage) finds his life turned upside down when millions of strangers suddenly start seeing him in their dreams. But when his nighttime appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is forced to navigate his newfound stardom, in this wickedly entertaining comedy from writer-director Kristoffer Borgli (Sick of Myself) and producer Ari Aster.  

In addition to Cage, the film also stars Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, and Dylan Baker.

Dream Scenario recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it generated positive buzz and praise for Cage. The film will release in select theaters November 10, followed by a wide release on November 22.
