The Marvels is shaping up to be a return to form for the MCU. The new film releases in theaters on November 10th, 2023. In this new featurette below we get an extended look at what leads to The Marvels.
Follow Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel on her journey to team up with Captain Monica Rambeau, her alienated niece, and Ms. Marvel, Jersey City’s own teen-age Super Hero.
In Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels,” Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”
The film is a sequel to Captain Marvel, but also features Kamala Khan from Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau from WandaVision. It stars Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris, Samuel L. Jackson, and Zawe Ashton. Nia DaCosta directs a script by Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells.
After the events of Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan and Captain Marvel have switched places, but that’s all we know about the film’s plot so far. We’ll keep you updated on this story as it develops.
Where The Marvels Leads To And Is Going
The Marvels takes the MCU back to the more cosmic side of things. We last saw Carol Danvers in a post-credits scene for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Seven Rings and in the post-credits of Ms. Marvel. For now, it seems like it’ll add more to the overall Kang storyline that the MCU is building towards with Avengers: Kang Dynasty. We’ll have to see when it releases in theaters on November 10th.
