Frasier has re-entered the building.

So begins the revival of Frasier, a show that ended on a positive note, and some may argue doesn’t need a revival. However Kelsey Grammer returns to the role he made iconic for twenty years. You can check out the first teaser which features the new theme song below.

Continuing On From Frasier

The show will seemingly follow up with Frasier and his son Freddy. When we last saw Freddy on the show he was a teenager, and is now an adult. The show will take place in Boston, where the series Cheers took place. Freddy is a firefighter and Frasier is in a new chapter of his life. Last we saw the character of Frasier, he was landing in Chicago to pursue his love interest, Charlotte. Seemingly giving the character a happy ending despite his many neurosis and attempts to self-sabotage his own love life.

The New And Returning Cast

No word on if Charlotte will appear or how they’ll address the ending of the original show, but the revival will star Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan, Frasier’s old college buddy. Toks Olagundoye plays Olivia, a colleague of Alan who is the head of the university’s psychology department. Jess Salgueiro plays Freddy’s roommate Eve, and Anders Keith plays Frasier’s nephew David. The only confirmed returning actors are Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith, Frasier’s ex-wife and mother of Freddy; as well as Peri Gilpin, who played Roz. David Hyde Pierce’s Niles is not returning in the Frasier reboot.

The first two episodes of the 10-episode series will drop on October 12th on Paramount+ with a weekly drop of new episodes every Thursday. Internationally, Frasier premieres a day later with new episodes available on Fridays.

The first two episodes will be directed by veteran director James Burrows, who directed 237 episodes of Cheers and 33 episodes of Frasier.
