The rumor mill for Fantastic Four casting is going wild today. There are reports from various internet scoopers and writers about the possible cast for Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four. A reminder that any of these are still rumors, and nothing is confirmed until Marvel Studios says it. On with the rumor mill.
Starting off with Sue Storm, the talk of the town is that Vanessa Kirby is the top choice. She recently starred in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One and has been a fan-cast choice for the role for a while.
Another actor that was rumored for a role in Fantastic Four might be playing someone other than you think. Ebon Moss-Bachrach took over our hearts with his role on The Bear. He seems like a perfect fit for Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, right? According to the source above, he’s in line for Silver Surfer. That would be a logical choice and an awesome one.
Finally, Antonio Banderas is said to be in line for the role of Galactus. Out of all these current rumors, because nothing is official until Marvel Studios announces it, this might be the most awesome one. He’s got the perfect voice for the biggest and baddest villain in the history of Marvel Comics.
You might be asking yourself, what about The Thing? Well, that one might be a little tricky. Obviously, it’s an effects-heavy role with prosthetics and makeup. According to the above source, Marvel wants “a fat, white guy” for The Thing. So that could be plenty of actors at the current moment.
The last rumored casting choice was originally Jack Quaid as Johnny Blaze, then mid-video. They got an update; changed their mind? I’m not sure, but they mentioned Joseph Quinn as another possible choice for Human Torch.
Of course, all of this comes with the caveat that actors are currently on strike. Nothing can happen. No casting can be announced, and no casting can be talked about. Unless it was done before the strike, it’s not happening until that strike is over. Take all of it with a gigantic grain of salt. We’ll see whenever Marvel Studios can officially announce it.
