The Righteous Gemstones is another in a long line of HBO shows that have captivated audiences. Like The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, Deadwood, and Boardwalk Empire before it, the Danny McBride-created show is among their best. Ahead of its season three finale airing on July 30th, the show has been renewed for a fourth season by HBO. The first three seasons are available to stream on Max. THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES tells the story of a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. When the spoiled Gemstone children finally get their wish to take control of the Church, they discover leadership is harder than they imagined and that their extravagant lifestyle comes with a heavy price.

The show has increased in viewership as it’s gone along, currently averaging 4.9 million viewers, which is higher than both of the previous Danny McBride-led shows, Eastbound and Down and Vice Principals.
