The Sharknado franchise is a series of science fiction disaster films that began with the 2013 film of the same name. The films follow a group of survivors as they attempt to survive a series of tornadoes that are filled with sharks! The franchise has been met with mixed reviews, but in the end, has become a cult classic.

The first film in the franchise was released on Syfy on July 11, 2013. The film stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid as Fin Shepard and April Wexler. The film was a surprise hit, becoming the most-watched original movie in Syfy’s history.

The success of the film led to the production of five sequels, all of which have been released on Syfy.
