Today, Focus Features revealed a new look at the film, dropping the official poster. Check it out below:
The right side features Toula (Nia Vardalos) and Ian (John Corbett), the romantic leads from the first My Big Fat Greek Wedding film. On the left, we see a bunch of Toula’s family members. The tagline reads “They’re headed to the homeland.”
The original My Big Fat Greek Wedding premiered in 2002. It told the love story of a Greek woman, Toula, who falls in love with non-Greek Ian. When they decide to get married, Toula must get her very Greek family to accept him while she comes to terms with her own heritage and identity. Toula, Ian, and the whole Portokalos family later returned for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 in 2016.
In the newest installment, we learn that Toula’s father has recently passed away, spurring a family trip to Greece. There, Toula makes it her mission to find some of her father’s old friends.
In addition to Vardalos and Corbett, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 also stars Elena Kampouris, Gia Carides, Joey Fatone, Louis Mandylor, Lainie Kazan, and Andrea Martin.
Star Vardalos wrote all three films in the series. However, MBFGW 3 will mark her first time directing for the franchise.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 premieres in theaters September 8.
