“The Perfect Find” is a delightful romantic comedy that follows the story of Jenna James, played by Gabrielle Union. She’s a newly single 40-year-old woman who finds herself back on the dating scene after a devastating breakup. Jenna is an accomplished professional but struggles to find happiness in her personal life. Unexpectedly, she falls for her boss’s son, Eric, played by Keith Powers, and struggles to find peace with their undeniable connection.

The movie is an easy, refreshing, and thoughtful watch filled with one-liners, twists, and a little drama. The cinematography is alluring to the eye, and the film features some amazing songs that really set the tone for this romantic comedy. 

The film touches on various themes, including dating in your 40s, balancing identities, finding confidence in your choices, and staying open to whatever the universe throws your way. It reinforces the message that age can, indeed, be “just a number”, and that love has the power to reveal itself when you least expect it.

Although Gabrielle Union’s character, Jenna, presents as strong, confident, and masterful in relation to her career, the dichotomy between her work life and personal life is pronounced. Jenna’s journey to finding love is relatable and heartwarming. Keith Powers as Eric is charming and brings a fresh perspective to the typical romantic lead. 

The supporting cast (including La La Anthony, Janet Hubert, and Ts Madison) also adds depth and humor to the movie. The chemistry between the actors is palpable, and the script is well-written, making for an enjoyable viewing experience.
