Sony’s Spider-Man Universe takes its darkest turn yet with Kraven the Hunter. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the iconic Marvel Comics villain. Check out the first trailer for the movie below.
Kraven the Hunter will be Sony’s first R-rated Marvel film. Previous features like Venom and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man movies were rated PG-13.
Here’s the official synopsis from Sony Pictures:
VILLAINS AREN’T BORN. THEY’RE MADE.
Kraven the Hunter is the visceral story about how and why one of Marvel’s most iconic villains came to be. Set before his notorious vendetta with Spider-Man, Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the titular character in the R-rated film.
Kraven the Hunter comes from director J.C. Chandor, from a story and screenplay by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk. The film is based on the character from Marvel Comics.
In addition to Taylor-Johnson, the film also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe.

Kraven the Hunter premieres exclusively in theaters October 6.
