British singer PinkPantheress is the latest artist to drop a new song for the Barbie movie soundtrack. Titled “Angel,” the sweetly-sung track is definitely one worth checking out before the movie hits theaters.

Coming in at just 2 minutes and 3 seconds short, the song was produced by BloodPop® (Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears) and Count Baldor (Dorian Electra, Lady Gaga). Those familiar with PinkPatheress’ work won’t be taken aback by the length of the song as she, over the past couple of years, has solidified herself as the queen of songs under 2 minutes long. Technically speaking, over 2 minutes is considered a long PinkPantheress song. One of her biggest hits, “Pain,” is 1 minute and 38 seconds long.

“Angel” is the most fitting title for the song, especially when her vocals are so angelic throughout. Staying true to the bedroom pop, hyperpop genre she has been known to build a fanbase around, the production unexpectedly experiments with violins reminiscent of Celtic Irish music.

“Everyone tells me life was hard, but it’s a piece of cake / Even if Johnny hasn’t answered in a couple days (Let’s go) / You won’t check your phone so you can’t tell me you’re okay because / Johnny, my baby, did it always have to end this way?” PinkPantheress softly sings in the pre-chorus.

Appearing on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist, “Angel” racked up over 700,000 streams in over a day, proving very popular with listeners.

“Angel” is one of 14 new songs created exclusively for the Barbie movie and the third we’ve heard thus far.

Last month, fellow Brit Dua Lipa kicked things off with the incredibly fun “Dance The Night,” accompanied by a music video that has already been watched over 34 million times on YouTube in two weeks.

The following week, Latin superstar Karol G teamed up with Aldo Ranks to release “WATITI.”
