If you’re a Wes Anderson fan itching for his next feature, Alamo Drafthouse will be the place to watch. The movie theater chain plans to make the launch of Asteroid City quite the experience, with advance screenings, vintage merch, a custom dining menu, and more. Advance Screenings & Filmmaker Chats
- Before Asteroid City releases in NYC and LA June 16 (June 23 nationwide), Alamo Drafthouse will hold exclusive advance screenings in theaters across the country on June 12.
- Wes Anderson and cast members will appear in person at the Brooklyn theater for a live conversation following the screening. Attendees at other theaters will get to see Anderson and the cast via livestream.
- In addition to exclusive advance screenings, Alamo Drafthouse will hold special “Chili Supper Screenings” at select theaters during the film’s opening week. Guests will enjoy a custom, pre-set menu for the screenings, featuring chili, hotdogs, grilled cheese, themed popcorn, and the Alamo Drafthouse/Dogfish Head beer collaboration, Asteroid City Lager.
Food & Drinks
- Craft brewery Dogfish Head will provide a new Asteroid City-themed beer at select Alamo Drafthouse locations. Asteroid City Lager is brewed with regenerative pilsner malt, tuxpeno corn malt, zuper saazer hops, and mid-20th century Pennsylvania lager yeast for a crisp, clean, and easy-drinking beer.
- Attendees can also order from a custom Asteroid City-themed food menu.
Merch & More
- You can purchase a limited-edition vintage-themed Asteroid City lunchbox and thermos. They feature custom art and will be sold exclusively at Alamo Drafthouse, while supplies last. The lunchbox and thermos will only be available for purchase online until June 15, so preorder yours now.
- On opening weekend, attendees will receive a custom-designed letterpress postcard, while supplies last.
- Alamo Drafthouse encourages fans to dress up as their favorite Wes Anderson characters to watch the new film.
