PSYCHO-PASS fans, prepare for another dive into the dystopian world The Sybil System created around itself just by its very existence. Why? Well, because the anime film PSYCHO-PASS: Providence is heading to NA theaters pretty soon. How soon, you might ask? Well, if you didn’t read the title, then read on below.

Crunchyroll is proud to announce that they will be bringing PSYCHO-PASS: Providence to NA theaters. This anime film from Production I.G is actually the 4th anime film of this science fiction dystopian action thriller anime franchise. As for what this anime film in particular is about? January 2118. Chief Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department, Akane Tsunemori, receives a report of an incident on a foreign vessel – the body of Professor Milicia Stronskaya has been discovered. Behind the incident is a group known as the Peacebreakers, a foreign paramilitary organization and a new outside threat who are targeting the professor’s research papers known as the “Stronskaya Document”.

Reunited with Shinya Kogami, a former fugitive from the Criminal Investigation Department, Akane grapples with a case that quickly escalates beyond their expectations. The Stronskaya Papers could reveal a truth that would shake Japan’s government, and even the Sibyl System, to the core.

It is in this untold story that the missing link is revealed.

Release Dates?

So when can you see PSYCHO-PASS: Providence? Well, it depends on where you live. For us in the NA region, this anime film will hit theaters on July 14, 2023. Complete with special advanced fan sneak peek showings on July 11 and July 13. Everyone else (which includes Australia, United Kingdom/Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Peru, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand) will have to wait a bit longer. Unfortunately, we don’t know how long other than a vague Summer 2023 release date. Tune back in to THS to find that out when we do.
