It’s almost time for the return of Minx. The critically acclaimed Starz comedy will premiere its second season July 21.
Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Minx centers around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women. In season 2, Doug and Joyce grapple with Minx’s explosive success, which brings more money, fame and temptation than either of them know how to handle.
In addition to Lovibond and Johnson, the series also stars Idara Victor as Tina, Jessica Lowe as Bambi, Lennon Parham as Shelly, Oscar Montoya as Richie, and Elizabeth Perkins as Constance.
Minx comes from creator, showrunner, and executive producer Ellen Rapoport. Other EPs include Paul Feig, Dan Magnante, Ben Karlin, Rachel Lee Goldenberg, and Johnson.
“All of us at Minx have been blown away by the passionate response from audiences across the world, who have mashed-up, TikTok-ed, and fanfic-ed us into a renewal,” Rapoport said when the show was originally renewed. “We are so grateful to our partners at HBO Max and Lionsgate for being true champions of the show, and for the opportunity to continue on this journey. Here’s to more chest hair, pussy bow blouses, and tasteful nudes in Season 2.”
You can watch the season 2 premiere of Minx on the Starz channel at 9pm on July 21. You can also stream it on the Starz app.
