The tenth film in the Fast and Furious franchise officially speeds onto the big screen in less than a month. Today, Universal wants to help you get to know a little more about Fast X – by focusing on the franchise’s new villain. Jason Momoa (Aquaman) makes his Fast and Furious debut as Dante Reyes. His ties to the crew’s past lead him to put a huge target on Dom’s back, working nonstop to hit him where it hurts: family.
“Jason Momoa. You all know him. But you will never, ever forget Dante Reyes,” teases Fast and Furious patriarch Vin Diesel.
“Momoa, on a motorcycle, in Rome? I mean, come on,” adds Michelle Rodriguez.
Check out the behind-the-scenes clip below to get to know Dante ahead of the Fast X premiere.
The clip features footage from Fast X, as well as interview clips from the cast, including Diesel, Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, and Momoa himself. Director Louis Leterrier also weighs in.
Fast X premieres in theaters May 19.
About Fast X
The end of the road begins.
Fast X will soon launch the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises.
Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced. A terrifying threat emerges from the shadows of the past, fueled by blood revenge, and determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.
In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante (Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price.
Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own 8-year-old son is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance.
You can pre-order tickets for Fast X now. The penultimate feature in the Fast and Furious franchise premieres May 19. Until then, check back to THS for more Fast Family updates.
