Have you missed the Gaang since their adventures ended in the finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender back in July 2008? Do you wish that this series could have a film adaptation of it that’s not a ridiculously horrible live-action remake? Well, you’re in luck. Thanks to CinemaCon 2023, Paramount are using that opportunity to give us a release date for an animated film starring Aang and co. once more. What is it? Well, let’s find out, shall we?

At long last, maybe we’ll get a film that doesn’t suck?

At the aforementioned CinemaCon 2023: Paramount (via social media platforms like Instagram) finally revealed the release date for their upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender animated film. According to their posts, this film has a release date of October 10, 2025. Not only that, but this is a theatrical release date to boot. Thus, we can expect theatergoers to see this film on that date. Of course though, 2025 is still a long ways away. So you might want to grab quite a bit of popcorn and re-watch the series in preparation of it.

That’s not all, folks. Paramount at CinemaCon 2023 also revealed a few key tidbits about the plot of this still-unnamed Avatar: The Last Airbender animated film. According to them, this animated film will indeed star the Gaang, but maybe not quite how you remembered them from the animated series. Instead of seeing them as kids again, we’ll apparently get to see them as adults in this film. Nothing else official besides that though.

Maybe this means we might see Aang and Katara’s kids when they were really little? Maybe we might even see Zuko and Mai’s kids too? Granted, this is just hopeful speculation for now. Take it all with a grain of salt until we do hear anything official from Paramount. Tune back in to THS later to find out more about this Avatar: The Last Airbender animated film when we do.
