Weeks away from the premiere of Fast X, plans are in motion for the next film in the Fast and Furious franchise. The final feature in the Fast Saga revealed its writers today.
Deadline reported that the screenplay will come from Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel. Hodson previously penned blockbusters the Transformers: Bumblebee movie and DC’s Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey. She also wrote the upcoming The Flash film.
Uziel’s writing credits include comedies like The Lost City and 22 Jump Street, as well as The Cloverfield Paradox for Netflix.
As previously announced, their script for Fast and Furious 11 will be directed by Louis Leterrier. Leterrier directs the upcoming film in the franchise, Fast X.
We don’t have many more details about the movie just yet. However, Universal revealed the eleventh feature will mark the end of the long-running franchise. It’s also intended to serve as a direct follow-up (or second half) to Fast X. So, fans will have a better idea of what to expect from Hodson and Uziel’s story once Fast X premieres in May.
The Fast and Furious franchise brought in over $6 billion cumulatively at the worldwide box office. Tickets for the penultimate installment in the series are on sale now.
Fast X premieres in theaters May 19. Until then, check back to THS for more updates from the Fast Family.
