If the original Star Wars trilogy remains your favorite, you’ll want to head to El Capitan next weekend. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, the theatre will host a huge Star Wars event.
El Capitan will host screenings of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi throughout the weekend, April 28-30. But fans can also collect some Star Wars swag by attending the special opening night event, or build their own movie marathon by attending Trilogy Day. Get the details for each special event below.
Return of the Jedi Opening Night Fan Event
El Capitan will kick off its 40th anniversary celebration with a screening of Return of the Jedi at 8pm on Friday, April 28. Each guest will receive a special credential and lanyard, an assorted Funko Pop, popcorn, and a drink. Tickets cost $40. You can reserve yours now at www.elcapitantickets.com.
Trilogy Day
Why not make it a movie marathon? On Saturday, April 29, El Capitan will screen not just Return of the Jedi, but the other two films in the original Star Wars trilogy, A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. A New Hope screens at 12pm, followed by The Empire Strikes Back at 3:30pm and Return of the Jedi at 7pm. Note that each of these screenings are ticketed separately. So if you want to watch every film in the trilogy, you’ll need to purchase three tickets.
