It’s upfronts season and AMC has made some exciting announcements. With the incredible success of AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe, it’s time to add a 3rd installment. We already have my personal favorite the Interview with the Vampire series, as well as Mayfair Witches. If you’re familiar with The Vampire Chronicles then this next one should be familiar to you: The Talamasca Organization!
The Talamasca Organization was introduced in the third book of The Vampire Chronicles, The Queen of the Damned. The Talamasca Organization is a secret group in the series that is devoted to the study of the supernatural world. They are also in charge of keeping mortals safe from their darkest elements.
The Immortal Universe of Anne Rice is highly intricate and detailed. So, I’m going to do my best to help explain how this third installment ties everything together.

THE TALAMASCA ORGANIZATION
In the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, there are three very important members of the Talamasca Organization. These characters help interweave the stories of The Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches together. Those are Jesse Reeves, David Talbot, and Merrick Mayfair. They’re all ex-members, but for this purpose, we’re just running with it.
Jesse Reeves is a descendant of Maharet. She and her brother Mekare are 6,000-year-old twins from ancient Kemet who accidentally began vampirism. They summoned the demon spirit Amel who possessed the daying Askasha and turns her into a vampire.
David Talbot is a Superior General of the Talamasca Organization who meets both Louis and Lestat at the end of The Queen of the Damned. He befriends both of them, as well as Armand, and also becomes a vampire. Eventually, his story takes him to our next member – Merrick Mayfair.
Merrick, who I don’t believe we have met in the Mayfair Witches series, is a member of the Talamasca Organization, as well as a powerful witch. She was raised by the organization, as well as David. Throughout the story, there is body-swapping, spirit-raising, love stories, and all sorts of craziness going on.
This is really just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many members of this Talamasca Organization it’s possible they could stick to these main three or go off on their own journey. Either way, I know I’ll be watching.
