It seems that Disney just added a new cast member to their attempt to add Lilo & Stitch to their ever-growing list of live-action remakes of their own animated films. Who is this new cast member, you might ask? Apparently, it’s Courtney B. Vance. Who is he and who will he be playing, you might also ask? Well, let’s find out, shall we?

Courtney B. Vance: Details

Courtney B. Vance as Walter in OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY by Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks Pictures, and Reliance Entertainment
3 guesses as to who he’s going to play.

Deadline has just revealed that Disney has added Courtney B. Vance to the ever-growing cast of their upcoming live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch. According to them: Vance will be playing secret agent Cobra Bubbles. Remember that guy? The big tall scary black dude with the most ridiculous name is secretly a US government agent trying to keep aliens a secret? Weirdly enough, Vance looks just a bit too…mild for that role. Maybe he has a slightly different character in this live-action remake? I guess we’ll just have to see whenever that live-action remake comes out.

Maybe if Vance puts on sunglasses, he might just fit the role better?

Still, it’s not like Courtney B. Vance can’t do roles as scary folks. In fact, his first film role was as Spc. Abraham “Doc” Johnson in Hamburger Hill (1987). That’s not the only time he played a military role though. He also played 2nd Lt. Glenn in The Tuskegee Airmen (1995). Granted, it was a minor role, but it does show that he could be a pretty decent Cobra Bubbles.

Too bad Vance doesn’t actually show up in this trailer, I think.

Unfortunately, what Deadline doesn’t tell us is when we’ll get to see this live-action Lilo & Stitch remake. This means that it will potentially be a very long while before we get to see if Courtney B. Vance does a good Cobra Bubbles. Presumably, Disney will give us that release date at some point. Tune back into THS to find that out when we do.
