Good news: it seems like Knuckles the Echidna (voiced by Idris Elba) will be getting his own live-action spinoff series from Paramount. Not bad for someone who started out as an antagonist to Sonic the Hedgehog, and then became a side character in Sonic’s story. We have even better news than that though. We finally know which actors and actresses are going to be in this spinoff series. Or at least, we know who some of them are.

Knuckles: Casting Details

Variety has just announced the casting for the upcoming Knuckles live-action spinoff series. The list of cast mostly consists of new faces for this Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff show. However, we do have a single returning cast from the films making a reappearance here.

Unfortunately, what we don’t have is a release date for Knuckles. We know that it will premiere on Paramount+, but that’s it for release details until Paramount tells us anything more. Tune back in to THS later to find out that info when we do. In the meantime though, let’s get down to those casting details.

Edi Patterson: Details

Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones, Knives Out) will be joining the cast of Knuckles. Unfortunately, this American actress and writer’s role in the spinoff series is currently unknown aside from her being in a recurring role. We’ll have to wait for Paramount to give us those details later.

Julian Barratt: Details

Julian Barratt (Unnatural Acts, The Mighty Boosh) will also join the cast of Knuckles in a recurring role. Unfortunately, we also don’t know how this English actor will play. Given his penchant for surreal comedy and black comedy though, this will likely be a hilarious and memorable performance.

Scott Mescudi: Details

Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi (also known by his stage name of Kid Cudi) will also be joining the cast of Knuckles in a recurring role. Unfortunately, this American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and fashion designer’s role is just as unknown as the previous cast. Paramount seems to be keeping a tight lid here on cast details.

Ellie Taylor: Details

Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso) is the last addition to the recurring role cast of Knuckles. Alas though, this English comedian, television personality, actress, and writer’s role is also unknown. Paramount will hopefully clue us in on those details later.

Rory McCann: Details

Rory McCann will also join the cast of Knuckles, but in a guest starring role. Game of Thrones fans might recognize him better as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane. Unfortunately, Paramount is keeping his role a secret too, so that’s something we’ll also have to wait for.

Tika Sumpter: Details

At last, we have someone whose role is actually given by Paramount. Tika Sumpter will appear in Knuckles, reprising her role as Maddie from the 2 previous Sonic the Hedgehog films. With her role mentioned, that’s the end of this casting news. Paramount promises more at a later date, so tune back in to THS later too find that out when we do.
