Yesterday, Warner Bros. Discovery made a series of huge announcements regarding the future of its streaming platform and content. Beginning May 23, HBO Max and Discovery+ will officially combine content into one streaming platform, known as MAX.
Warner Bros. Discovery also previewed some of the content headed to the platform. The upcoming titles dive into some of the company’s biggest IPs, including Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. Check out a summary of the biggest announcements from WBD and MAX below.
Introducing MAX
WBD kicked off their announcements with the formal introduction of MAX. The streaming platform will replace HBO Max, adding in titles from the Discovery+ platform.
The service will feature 3 pricing tiers: Ad-Lite at $9.99/month, Ad Free at $15.99/month (the current price of HBO Max), and Ultimate Ad Free ($19.99/month). Learn more about each of the tiers and their inclusions here.

Here are some of the biggest new titles announced for MAX.
Harry Potter re-adapted as a series
J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books will officially be re-adapted into a live-action TV series. The project is still in early development, with no showrunner, writers, or cast attached at this time. Learn more about MAX’s plans for Harry Potter here.
New Game of Thrones prequel ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’

‘The Conjuring’ universe series

Barbie Dreamhouse competition series
MAX, Mattel, and HGTV will partner for a home design and renovation challenge themed around bringing Barbie’s iconic Dreamhouse to life. Learn more about the competition series here.
