HBO and Max have ordered a new drama series based in the Game of Thrones universe. The series has a mouthful of a title, so be ready for A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight. The “Game of Thrones” prequel series will be written and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker. Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis will also executive produce.

Here’s the logline for the new series!

A century before the events of “Game of Thrones,” two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.

The series is based on Martin’s Dunk and Egg books. It follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall (Dunk) and a young Targaryen (Egg) 90 years before the events of A Song Of Ice And Fire. The only other Game of Thrones project to move forward has been House Of The Dragon. We’ll have to see how many others get announced and turn out.

HBO Max is turning into Max in May. The new service will have all the HBO content you love, but also include Discovery+ content and other Warner Bros. Discovery content.
