PaleyFest Los Angeles returned last year in person have a pandemic hiatus. Now, it seems there’s no stopping the festival that celebrates television. This year’s lineup is iconic bringing fans closer to the cast and creatives of their favorite TV shows. This year’s lineup includes The Mandalorian, Abbott Elementary, Yellowstone, Grey’s Anatomy, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Yellowjackets, as well as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel!
So, we had a chance to catch a few panels, and speak with cast and creatives on the PaleyFest Press Carpet! Check out everything below!
PALEYFEST 2023: The Mandalorian
Disney+ Fan Favorite, The Mandalorian made an appearance at PaleyFest. We had a chance to talk with Bo-Katan herself, Katee Sackoff about bringing the character to life in live-action, as well as her take on strong female characters. Unfortunately, Pedro Pascal and John Favreau didn’t walk the carpet.
The panel was like watching best friends discuss their favorite subjects. When asked about the future of During the Panel, when Star Wars, Executive Producer Dave Filoni gave this spoiler-free quote: “There are plans and there are shows and characters in them.”
PALEYFEST 2023: ABBOTT ELEMENTARY
On Saturday, April 1st, PaleyFest celebrated with the cast and creatives from Abbott Elementary! In attendance was Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tyler James Williams, Lisa Ann Walter, and William Stanford Davis. However, there were a couple of other cast members who attended virtually. It seems Chris Perfetti and Janelle James just couldn’t miss the event!
During the panel, the cast talked about their award wins from this season, how the show helps remind people of the importance of teachers, and how much everyone in the cast ships Janine and Gregory!
Breaking News was released during this panel. It was announced that Taraji P. Henson (Empire/Hidden Figures) will play Janine’s mom at Abbott Elementary on April 12!!!
PALEYFEST 2023: YELLOWSTONE
There’s a bit of drama surrounding the Yellowstone panel. Originally, Taylor Sheridan, executive producer David Glasser, as well as the stars Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Bentley, Gil Birmingham, and Jacki Weaver were set to attend. Apparently, 30 mins before the press lines were set to begin outlets were given face sheets with 4 brand-new cast members who would be in attendance instead. Those actors were Josh Lucas, Wendy Moniz, Mo Brings Plenty and Dawn Olivieri.
While the excuse being used is last-minute scheduling conflicts it’s understandable, those in attendance who paid to see the panel of their favorite show are not happy. There are a lot of people on social media calling for refunds. PaleyFest has yet to make a statement about the shocking Yellowstone shakeup. PaleyFest never updated the cast on their website. So, it will be interesting to see if they choose to stay firm behind their fine print of *Events & Participants Subject to Change. Talent Appear Schedule Permitting.
PALEYFEST 2023: GREY’S ANATOMY
I have been watching Grey’s Anatomy since its incarnation. I know, I can’t believe it either. So, seeing old and new, and somewhere in between cast members on stage is a dream come true. As much as I wished I was, we were not on the carpet before this panel. However, bringing back fan favorite T.R. Knight (George O’Malley) to host the panel was a delight!
YELLOWJACKETS
Almost the entire cast of the hit Showtime Series, Yellowjackets was there for the PaleyFest Panel. Cast members fielded questions about the grim ending of Season 2 Episode 2. As well as the darkness we can expect throughout the rest of the season. We even had a chance to speak with a few cast members on the Payley Fest Red Carpet beforehand.

THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL
I have loved this show since season one. While I’m sad to say goodbye, I’m glad The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is taking her final bow before it ruins itself. The cast fielded questions about the final season, their favorite memories, and graciousness to fans for sticking with them. We had a chance to speak with multiple members of the cast about their final goodbye!
We can’t wait for PaleyFest Next Year!
Overall, PaleyFest 2023 was a HUGE success. This season they truly outdid themselves. I cannot wait to see what 2024 has in store for television fans! If I were to throw out a few suggestions, Disney+ Loki, NBC’s Quantum Leap, ABC’s Not Dead Yet, Starz P-Valley and Outlander, HBOMax’s The Last of Us, as well as Netflix’s Bridgerton. Just to get you started.
