The film takes place in a fictional American desert town circa 1955 and features all of the classic Americana styles you’d expect. Asteroid City is written by Anderson and frequent collaborator Roman Coppola. Based on the trailer, the movie certainly has the aesthetic audiences would anticipate from an Anderson film; and the visuals of the film are undeniably stunning. Asteroid City also boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, including Anderson regular Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, and Jeffrey Wright. The film is set to land in select theatres on June 16 and a wider release on June 23. Keep reading for a look at the official trailer as well as more details on the film and the cast.
