Heavy metal vocalist and former member of Iron Maiden, Blaze Bayley, has suffered a heart attack and is currently hospitalized in stable condition.

Earlier yesterday (Sunday, March 26), his management and booking team of Mark Appleton and Christopher Appleton posted the following statement through social media:

We sincerely regret to announce that Blaze had a heart attack at home yesterday evening & is now in hospital in a stable condition, awaiting news of further surgery/treatment. He is in good spirits in the circumstances but utterly disappointed to have to postpone our imminent shows due in March & April. Ticket refunds will be available at source but we truly hope you will keep your tickets & make it to the new dates which we will be announcing as soon as they are scheduled.

Regarding shows already booked for June-November this year, we understandably have to wait a short while to see how quick Blaze’s recovery will be, so please stay tuned & meanwhile most importantly we’re sure you will join us in wishing him a complete & speedy recovery.

Blaze misses you, cannot wait to regain full health & see you all again.

Every Storm Ends… ‘your heart will heal’.

Thank you so much everyone for your understanding & support.

Wolfsbane’s Statement On Blaze

It’s a tough break for the singer who was set to embark on a tour of Europe. Bayley wasn’t just a former singer of Iron Maiden though. He was also the singer for the band Wolfsbane, who issued this statement.

Last night our brother and friend Blaze Bayley had a heart attack whilst at home. He’s in hospital in a stable condition, awaiting news of further treatment. We have spoken to him earlier today and he seemed in good spirits, despite the ordeal he’s been through.

All our love and thoughts are with Blaze and his family.

We’ll update you all when we know more.

Blaze’s Career And Time In Maiden

Blaze Bayley was in Iron Maiden from 1994 until 1999, after Bruce Dickinson left the band. He appeared on two albums, The X Factor and Virtual XI. Since his time in Iron Maiden, Blaze has released plenty of albums, including Silicon Messiah, which has some tracks that would have ended up on a third Bayley Iron Maiden record. He also returned to Wolfsbane in 2012 for their album Wolfsbane Saves The World and a follow-up LP titled Genius in 2022.

His latest solo record came out in 2021, titled War Within Me.

If you’ve ever heard an interview with Blaze Bayley, he’s one of the most positive and just generally happy guys out there. He loves his fans, he loves playing music, and he’s never been bitter about his time or reaction in Iron Maiden. He still plays his tracks from Iron Maiden on his shows.

We’re wishing a speedy recovery to Blaze and a return to the stage to be better than ever.

Keep him and his family in your thoughts.
