It’s been fifteen long years since we’ve seen Liv Tyler as Betty Ross in The Incredible Hulk. Now, the Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Liv Tyler will be back as Betty Ross in Captain America: New World Order.
Tyler has joined the cast of the fourth Captain America film as scientist Betty Ross, who is the daughter of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross. Ross was played by the late William Hurt across the MCU. Harrison Ford is now stepping into the role in the new installment.
The Incredible Hulk was released in 2008 at a strange time for the MCU. It wasn’t really the MCU as we know it. The second feature film from Marvel Studios starred Ed Norton as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. He exited the franchise after the film and was replaced by Mark Ruffalo for The Avengers.
Other actors confirmed to return for the upcoming fourth film are Tim Blake Nelson, Carl Lumbly, Danny Ramirez, and Anthony Mackie as Captain America. The Cloverfield Paradox director Julius Onah is directing the film. It’s currently in production in Atlanta, Georgia. Malcolm Spellman wrote the script with Dalan Musson. Captain America: New World Order has a tentative release date of May 3rd, 2024.
Liv Tyler is known for roles in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Armageddon, and she’s recently appeared in shows like The Leftovers and 9-1-1: Lone Star.
We’ll have to see how this all turns out when Captain America: New World Order releases. It sure seems like we’re heading towards something involving the Hulk with all these returning characters from the 2008 movie.
So, what do you think of this news that Liv Tyler is returning as Betty Ross?
