It’s almost time to meet the Queen. The Bridgerton spinoff Queen Charlotte arrives on Netflix in May. And today, we have a new look at the series.
Check out the trailer for Queen Charlotte below.
“I realize you have no reason to like me. But if you will give me one evening of your time, it might make you hate me a little bit less.” Ohhh boy, we’re in for it!
Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
The six-episode limited series centers around Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte. The spinoff also sees Bridgerton stars Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury) and Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) reprise their roles. Additional cast members include India Amarteifio (Young Queen Charlotte), Michelle Fairley (Princess Augusta), Corey Mylchreest (Young King George), Arsema Thomas (Young Lady Danbury), Sam Clemmett (Young Brimsley), Freddie Dennis (Reynolds), Richard Cunningham (Lord Bute), Tunji Kasim (Adolphus), Rob Maloney (the Royal Doctor), and Cyril Nri (Lord Danbury).
Like Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte comes from showrunner and executive producer Shonda Rhimes. Tom Verica executive produces and directs, and Betsy Beers also executive produces.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story premieres on Netflix May 4.
