Big news: it seems that the legendary Quentin Tarantino is about to direct and write his final film in the form of The Movie Critic. It seems that after 31 years of directing, he’s finally calling it quits with this upcoming film. What is it about, you might ask? Well, let’s find out.

The Last Hurrah of Quentin Tarantino?

The Hollywood Reporter has just come out with the news that Quentin Tarantino is busy making his final film. According to them, his last act will be titled The Movie Critic, since that’s what the script is titled. Tarantino has apparently already completed said script, and is just in the process of putting together a production crew for this film. Production will apparently begin sometime in Fall 2023, according to those unnamed sources. In fact, it’s those same unnamed sources who also claim that this will be Tarantino’s final film. If this is indeed his last hurrah, then we can anticipate something pretty spectacular for this film.

Now just what is The Movie Critic about, you might ask? Unfortunately, Quentin Tarantino is keeping any and all details of his script for it under tight wraps. The only details about it come from other unnamed sources speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about it. According to them, The Movie Critic is “set in late 1970s Los Angeles with a female lead at its center”. The Hollywood Reporter speculates that The Movie Critic might be about Pauline Kael, since she is known for her “witty, biting, highly opinionated and sharply focused” reviews and she fits the time period.

However, it’s worth noting that without any official word from anyone, especially not Tarantino, this is just pure speculation for now. Take it with as many grains of salt as you like until we hear official word about The Movie Critic. Tune back into THS later to find out that official word when we do.
