This Supergirl isn’t giving up the good fight just yet. Melissa Benoist will voice the warrior heroine Teela in Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
The upcoming animated series serves as the followup to the streamer’s previously released Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Benoist replaces Sarah Michelle Gellar, who voiced the character in Revelation.
The new series follows Teela, He-Man, and the rest of the Masters as they attempt to save Eternia from dark forces.
Set as the follow-up to 2021’s Revelation, Revolution finds Benoist as Teela alongside He-Man and the rest of the Masters as they struggle to save Eternia from the tangles of darkness.
“Revolution is an all-new story that focuses on the classic He-Man vs. Skeletor rivalry in a way audiences have never seen before,” said a statement from Mattel. “It’s technology up against magic as He-Man and the heroic warriors face the forces of Skeletor and a deadly threat to the Planet in the next epic chapter in the battle for Eternia.”
Kevin Smith executive produces the show.
“I jumped at the opportunity to work alongside my friend, Kevin Smith and join the Revolution family as another bold and fearless heroine,” said Benoist. “I look forward to sharing the next evolution of Teela’s story with fans.”
Benoist joins returning cast members Chris Wood (Adam/He-Man) and Mark Hamill (Skeletor). Masters of the Universe: Revolution will also feature the voice of William Shatner, though his role remains TBA.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution plans to premiere on Netflix in 2024. You can stream the previous series, Revelation, on the platform now.
